TYLER COMMUNITY CONCERT ASSOCIATION
Established in 1933, Tyler Civic Music became affiliated with Community Concerts in 1955 to form Tyler Community Concert Association. Motivated by the mission "to bring artists and audiences together", Community Concerts provided a refined network of artists and promoters which enabled local associations such as ours to present top entertainers at reasonable prices for the cultural enrichment of their members. When the opportunity for an affiliation with Live On Stage, LLC presented itself in the spring of 2003, Tyler Community Concert Association emerged with the determination to continue the tradition of bringing quality entertainment at reasonable prices to the people of East Texas.
During the 2012-2013 season, because of the generosity of our Contibutors' Program, two student outreach events will be held providing a cultural experience for the young people of our community that they might not otherwise have the chance to enjoy. They will feature a Master Class with The Boston Brass and a student outreach concert for the students of the Tyler ISD and surrounding areas.
The Tyler Community Concert Association is a totally volunteer operated organization with a 501c(3) designation from the IRS and is managed by a Board of Directors led by the following officers:
- President - Gini Rainey
- VP/Artist Selection - Garth Pattullo
- VP/Membership - B.J. Hornbostel
- VP/Concerts - Jason Taylor
- VP/Publicity - John Springer
- Membership Secretary - Frena Boley
- Board Secretary - Diane Sorrels
- Treasurer - Lowell Hinsch
Operating with an average annual artist budget of $50,000 and a season that runs from September to April, each series offers 5 to 6 concerts annually which are presented in Caldwell Auditorium, 300 S. College, Tyler, Texas. Members of this Association come from an area defined by Hide-A-Way Lake and Mineola/Quitman to the north, to Jacksonville and Emerald Bay/Palestine to the south, Canton and Chandler to the west and Arp and Longview to the east. Additionally, by sharing reciprocal agreements with several other area associations, TCCA members have the opportunity to attend over 30 concerts for a current membership cost of only $60.00 for adults and $30.00 for students.
Besides providing an outstanding concert series for the membership, through the generosity of corporate and individual sponsors, TCCA is also able to offer affordable, quality family entertainment through its' Family Membership program which is reasonably priced at $150.00 and provides two adult memberships and tickets for all children under the age of 22 in the household.
