It is with great sadness that I am writing this letter today. At a recent Board of Directors’ meeting it was determined that it was not fiscally possible for TylerLive! - Tyler Community Concert Association to continue.
We have raised only $27,120.00 from our Spring membership campaign, which represented a $23,000.00 shortfall of the projected expenses for the 2015-16 concert season. There is no way that I can sign contracts with Live On Stage in good conscience in hopes that the balance of the funds would come in prior to the start of the concert season in September.
There has been a radical decline in membership over the past five years. There are several contributing factors that include the aging of our audience, the inability to attract a younger audience, and the significant increase in options for entertainment in our area.
To those of you who rallied around earlier this year and went the second mile, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It was not an easy thing to ask you for additional funds and we honestly believed that we would be able to move forward. For those of you who believed in the future of TylerLive! and committed to the 2015-16 season, we thank you. Your funds, less a small handling fee, have been mailed to you. Should have not received your refund, please contact us through the addresses at the bottom of this letter and that issue will be rectified.
We sincerely apologize for the insolvency of TylerLive! Thank you for being such good friends of the arts and an awesome audience. We surely will miss all of you very much.
